Start high and work down, room by room. Ceiling fans, light fixtures, and the tops of door frames first — everything you knock loose lands on the floor, and the floor is last. In the kitchen, clear the counters completely before you start. Wipe down small appliances (including the toaster crumb tray), degrease the stove top and range hood, clean the inside of the microwave, and don't skip the rubber seal around the fridge door — that gasket is the single most commonly missed spot in any home. Cabinet fronts and the backsplash come next, then the sink, then the floor.
Bathrooms need pre-treatment time. Spray the grout, shower glass, and tub first and let the product sit while you work the mirrors, counters, and fixtures. That soak time is what separates a deep clean from a wipe-down. Come back to the tile last, then finish with the toilet and the floor.
Bedrooms and living areas are about dust and high-touch surfaces: strip the beds, vacuum under them, dust baseboards, blinds, switch plates, and remotes, then vacuum and mop. Blinds and baseboards are where deep cleans are won or lost.
